Hello Everyone,

So, today I was in the mood for dark shades…all black everything. Not something momma Norah Sofia would be happy with, but, she’s not here, I’m not a kid anymore and she’ll just have to deal with it (yes momma, this is directed at you!).

So I’ve grabbed my girlfriend’s phone (Samsung Galaxy K zoom) and shared today’s look…Must say this gadget takes some great shots.

WILD ORCHID: Party Dresses & Tropical Prints From Forever New

Hello ladies.

I’ve just arrived from an awesome aesthetic binge at the Forever New launch of it’s energetic and colourful Wild Orchid collection.

This line was created to bring to mind early summer parties, tropical holidays and balmy nights.

I gotta say Forever New is so unapologetically girly, pretty, feminine. I love it!

It’s so much colour, vibrant orchid prints, pretty playsuits and chic wrap skirts. The uber stylish brand advises us continue adorning Pop colour dressing with bright colours such as chartreuse, vivid pink and coral.

All white remains a key summer trend, worn head to toe or with brightly coloured accessories. Hell, you can layer print on print for fun!

My favourite items were the oversized tote bags and back packs!

The Wild Orchid Collection is available in all Forever New stores and select Edgars stores.

Sheria Ngowi I ‘PRIDE’ SS15 I Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Africa

I had the privilege and honour of attending the inspiring Sheria Ngowi ‘PRIDE’ SS15 show at the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week this weekend.

The visually captivating production paid homage to Africa’s political revolutionaries and was a thought provoking message to the African male fashionista: Don’t just leave the fashion experimentation and fun to the women, you too can go big and go bold in your fashion choices.

‘PRIDE’ SS15 is for the contemporary male who is self assured. A man who not only embodies his cultural values and fully lives in an emancipation hard won by our political heroes of the past, he is also the guy who takes on that revolutionary instinct and manifests it in attire that is uninhibited, colourful and unapologetically chic! If the sisters can do it, why not you!

Be the fashion revolutionary, be proud to be black and take bold fashion risks.

KIBONEN NY is a ready-to-wear sportsline that’s inspired to bring CAMER-COUTURE to life on the global catwalk

I was really taken by the KIBONEN NY label as it defines my friends and I to a ‘T’!

The KIBONEN NY woman is a contemporary, 20-something who loves luxurious quirkiness, has the guts to boldly experiment with her fashion choices and, in the designers words, “…is capable of travelling the world at the comfort of her current location through what she wears” and through her love of art.

Check out this really cool and aesthetically delicious sportswear line.

“My Aesthetic vision is based on creating pieces that don’t only represent the Cameroonian tribes, but, garments that are wearable and appreciated by the ultra-modern client – constantly gaining inspirations from the African tribes and global trends.” -designer, Kibonen Nfi (Cameroon)

If you want a birds-eye view of what cosmopolitan, career-oriented, fashion savvy 20-Somethings are wearing and accessorizing with in Johannesburg, you only need look at

Maria’s multicultural background and global fashion experiences (growing up visiting UK markets, shopping in New York, living in Africa and developing a love for all things India) established a unique fashion and aesthetic sensibility and brand of ethnic-urban, bespoke jewellery, bags and vintage clothing.

Years ago, her then burgeoning accessories obsession turned into serendipitous luck when True Love Food Editor, Mokgadi Itsweng saw the Lesotho crafted earrings she wore, ordered a couple for herself and eventually introduced Maria to Stoned Cherry founder, Nkhensani. The rest, as they say, is fabulous, fashion-forward history.

The label MARIA MCCLOY was born and so was her incredible line of branded African print bags, shoes and custom tailored earrings. To date MARIA MCCLOY has been stocked by South African fashion titans Stoned Cherry, Sun Goddess and Mantsoe. Her pieces have been flaunted on the necks, hands and ears of celebrities like Lira, Zaki Ibrahim and Simphiwe Dana. And they have graced the pages of True Love, Destiny, Play, Elle Decor and Cosmo….to name a few. Even CNN interviewed the designer in an edition of CNN Inside Africa.

Today Maria is also a PR consultant to VIACOM Africa for their brands MTV Base, MTV, Comedy Central, Nickelodeon, VH1 and BET.
